Suspect Arrested After Moonwalking in Toms River

SUSPECT ARRESTED FOR HEROIN POSSESSION AFTER CAUSING DISTURBANCE, MOONWALKING IN TOMS RIVER, NJ

Toms River NJ police recently arrested a man on drug charges after responding to a report that he was acting oddly and “moonwalking” outside of a local gas station.

The strange incident occurred just before midnight at the Speedway gas station located on Hooper Avenue in Toms River, NJ. A gas station worker reportedly noticed the suspect lingering outside the store. When the suspect walked inside the store, he allegedly began to dance erratically and moonwalk in and out of the aisles. The gas station employee watched the suspect as he presumably looked for food items to purchase. When the suspect failed to promptly buy anything and remained in the store despite being asked to leave, the employee dialed 911 and alerted local law enforcement.

Toms River police officers soon arrived at the scene and questioned the suspect. The Toms River cops also ran a background check on the suspect and learned that he had an active arrest warrant out of Neptune, NJ. Police placed the suspect under arrest and conducted a search that allegedly turned up heroin and at least six hypodermic needles.

The suspect was later identified as a 39-year-old man who lives somewhere in Ocean County, NJ. In addition to already facing criminal charges in Neptune Township, the suspect now faces additional criminal charges forpossession of heroin and illegal possession of hypodermic needles in Toms River.

Since possession of even a trace amount of heroin is considered a third degree felony, the suspect is going to want to secure qualified, competent legal representation as soon as possible. A conviction on third degree heroin possession charges could result in a sentence of 3-5 years in NJ State Prison and a $75,000 fine.

After being placed under arrest and charged, the suspect was remanded to the Ocean County Jail in Toms River, New Jersey.
